Could you please try to convert such a fax file (it's called .sff and you can find it in /var/spool/capisuite/<user>/received manually by using the tool sfftobmp (writing a tiff file) and then try to open this tiff file e.g. with GIMP?
Did you install the available online updates from SUSE? IIRC, there was a problem with libtiff which was repaired very soon through an update. |

Hello and thanks for response.
according your recomendation, I tried to convert manually the sff file into tif and with gimp it was readable. Also all updates except Kernel from SuSe are installed.
Which version of Libtiff shall be used? I will search for an update under packman.
If you have any idea please let me know.
Thanks and best regards

So if the tiff works, could you please also try to convert it to PS?
To be exact, CapiSuite does (in 0.4.5) the following:
sfftobmp -tif bla.sff bla.tif
tiff2ps -h11 -H12 -L.5 -w8.5 -a bla.tif | ps2pdf -sPAPERSIZE=a4 - -
Perhaps you could try each of these steps exactly like described above and see where the error really occurs? |
