According to the JFIF standard, this doesn't seem to be a Baseline JPEG file, as it contains no APP0 header, but only an APP1 with "G3FAX" in there. See http://www.dcs.ed.ac.uk/home/mxr/gfx/2d/ [^]JPEG.txt and http://www.funducode.com/freec/ [^]Fileformats/format3/format3b.htm for example. Unfortunately, the real JPEG standard isn't available for free, so I wasn't able to look up what this "G3FAX" is concretely yet. A first idea is that this is the result of a so called "color fax" sent from a Windows machine as the received JPEG was indeed in color. |

See http://groups.google.com/groups [^]?hl=de&lr=&ie=UTF-8&threadm=01c1c4f6%2494830d20%24LocalHost%40SURF Unfortunately, I wasn't able to reproduce this problem so far. :-(( Every try to receive a color fax sent with Fritz!FAX resulted in the reception of a b/w document how it should be... |

Current CVS version can handle one-page color faxes now correctly. Unfortunately, I haven't found a tool yet which could convert multipage JPEG to PS yet... :-( Sent a mail to the author of jpeg2ps (Thomas Merz) about this problem. Let's see if he has time and / or an idea... Therefore leaving the bug open... |
